This year, like the last, the Chicago effort to celebrate World Pillow Fight Day in conjunction with other cities around the globe was spirited and fun, all in the perfect setting of a sunny day in Chicago's downtown area.
But the activities were cut short by the Chicago Police, as a couple of the participants were taken away in cuffs. WHO GETS ARRESTED AT A PILLOW FIGHT? Was it because of the IOC in town?
Here's the story: http://www.groundreport.com/Arts_and_Culture/Cops-Gone-WIld_1
Maybe things should be held at a different location instead of in front of the Art Institute.
Only in Chicago, folks!
Were the girls actually arrested or, like the article said, released soon after? From the report, the girls really did nothing wrong and I hope they weren't taken to jail.

From what I remember reading elsewhere, the police arrested seven, including the two girls from Kenosha, and brought them down to the station. They were held there for about an hour and then released with citations for littering, with a $35 fine.
Rather silly, especially with the IOC in town, and even moreso with the city not making it past the first round of balloting for the Olympics.

It was actually five people, plus at least one of the bucket players, that got arrested. And from what we overheard at the police station, yeah, the IOC has certain of the CPD on edge for any perceived shenanigans.

I know two of the arrested were high school girls from Kenosha. But it was ridiculous, and even more over the top when they called for a paddy wagon.

Yep. They are pictured on GroundReport's "Cops Gone Wild" article, which you should be able to google without any trouble. They were in lock-up with us, along with one guy who was just walking by on his way to Borders and got handed a pillow.
