  • what if your radiator fan doesnt have a clutch but does the same thing

  • @TheKushage420 electrical cooling fans often stop working correctly too.

  • my 95 honda civic overheats when sitting still.i noticed when this happens that the fan motor is not engaged.i just replaced the relay, tested the thermostat, and bled the radiator.when it is

overheating i noticed that the top hose is hot and the bottom one is cold,so i felt both top and bottom of the radiator and both places are hot.also, when starting the car cold, sometimes the fan will kick on and do it's job,and sometimes it won't.please help!

  • @kleberdig hot wire the fan to run all the time, if that fixes it, drive it that way

  • This is a great resource for a young DIYer like myself. I have an 02 Jeep Liberty famous for overheating. I can change the fan clutch but I am not sure how to test it. I'm afraid I test it and it turns out to bee something else like a h2o pump, loose belt, fan assembly, head gasket. The radiator is brand new with new dexcool. I guess I'm asking how to isolated the fan clutch as the issue from the other possible issues. Can I measure the air intake? Thank you in advance.-Maurice

  • @017panda they make air gauges to measure air speed from the fan, but hardly anyone has one. If the engine running doesn't push a ton of air through the fan, replace the clutch.

  • @koertje what do gloves have to do with being Gay? I hate washing my hands OR soaking them in gas and oil. Scotty

  • I do not own a vehicle that uses a fan clutch for the radiator fan but yet I still truly appreciate this video from Scotty Kilmer. It is very straight to the point and well done in the video composition. I always learn something new from his videos. Scotty, our many thanks to you for sharing your valueable and hard-earned experience with your viewers.

  • @scottykilmer thanks scotty!

  • Or should I be looking at the fan's motor because the fan does offer some resistance when I try to stop it with a rolled up magazine?
