Yeah, that's why I like to hike in, set up camp, sleep, get up in the AM, hike a peak or something, get back to camp, chill, and casually head out the next morning. We usually do 3 days minimum - too much preparation and driving for a day or a regular weekend. It's a trip - it's a journey.
No, I went with a friend who is more laid back about this than I am - I'm lucky we got one complete one in!
But, we got a late start and it was enough for both of us - I'm on the fence about doing the 46. For one thing I don't have anybody to do it with. And for another thing, I want to have the freedom of doing many different kinds of trips when I go to the Adirondacks - would not want to be limited to the 46 high peaks.
:)
I'll try to do them all in my lifetime - not before then!

@twochordcool Yeah, hey--nothing wrong with doing just one at a time. The more important piece is enjoying the hike, the views...
One of my favorite quotes is "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey."

Great views--did you summit multiple peaks in the Dix Range on this trip?
