  • Will this water system work off of 24 volt solar power? I'm looking at designing a system for my cabin using lake water.

    Thanks,

  • @rolannolan111 --- Yes it will work on a 24 Volt system, I set it up on 12 Volt for ease of use with lighting and 12 volt appliances, you will need to specify 24 volt when you purchase the water pump, other than that it does not matter, pumps are sold in both, and some even can be switched to work with either 12 or 24 volt

  • Nice setup. Much like what i have at our Cabin. We use a 15" milk filter for filtering the water before the tank but it is very fine and does tend to plug up with pine pollen in the spring. Looking at adding a diverter system to divert the first 5 min of a rainfall away from the tank. have you tried a diverter?

  • nice set up. Is that osmosis filters?

  • nice setup... water is the next phase of my offgrid cabin project (you can see my videos on my channel)... which water heater did you go with... I am looking at an ez202 right now...

do you use the rainwater for drinking? I am still researching and am figuring if I go with one of the .02 sawyer water filters inline after a 20 and a 1 micron filter should make it safe for drinking.

  • Great video!! If you don't mind me asking, what was that part next to the pump?? (Cumilator, I think...). What's its purpose? I'm in hopes of building a cabin next summer, and doing some research on off grid water systems. I saw your reply to rolan below noting that it'll work on solar (yay), but I was confused as to that one part.

Also, i'd appreciate any advice if you have any suggestions.

    Cheers! jj.

  • Great post, very clean install. Thanks. Curious what size pump/accumulator (sp?) your using?
