The Pacific Emperor

After a three hour tour across Icy Strait from Gustavius. We arrive to our destination Phineas Point, the humpback whale haven. During the week scientist record 20 different pods of Humpbacks with numbers up to 200 different whales. This video documents the Humpback whales as they cultivate food with tail slaps, and enjoying their time. Half way through the video watch as two humpbacks breach the surface.

Oh my, how wonderful! You did all the videomaterial yourself? Oh, I saw a boat there, rather small...I would think these whales are strong enough to take a boat on their back! :-)

Its in Icy Strait, in Alaska. I was in a motor boat, but I have been kayaking and seen Orcas. In a month, humpback whales are migrating to a bay near me, and I plan to film them from a kayak.
