  • @123kristinx it actually is 38 but you have to spend another 2 atp to keep the cycle going which then equals 36 ATP

  • @123kristinx In reality, at least with plants, total ATP production varies from about 30-40 depending on plant species and some species even have variation within them. However, most books do list the gross ATP as 36, but remember, you have to spend another 2 ATP to keep the cycle going, netting you a total of 34.
