  • What is Elevonic 401? Is it fixtures or a type of traction or hydraulic????

  • Elevonic 401 is the name of Otis' high rise series of elevators. There is Otis Elevonic 401 with speeds capable up to 500-700 feet per minute and Elevonic 411 capable of speeds up to 800-1200 feet per minute, high speeds are avilible on special request.

  • Yeah those fixtures do look like Epco. What camera do you use? I use FlipVideo Classic F160W.

  • I use a Kodak M1033.

  • Is this the one in Times Square?

  • Yes

  • Awesome Video!!

  • I love these elevators, there is a pretty great view from the 46th floor two.

    Awesome Video!!

  • @JonElevator The high rise elevators at the W Hotel Times Square are Otis Elevonic 411 models, just like the elevators at the Westin Hotel New York. I also believe that both the high rise elevators at the W Hotel Times Square and the high rise elevators at the Westin Hotel New York, travel at about the same speed (Around 1200 fpm Or So) which is extremely fast. That is why I love those elevators at the W and the Westin Hotels. They are extremely fast and high speed.

  • @JonElevator The W Hotel Times Square's elevators were installed in the year 2000 I think. I think that the Westin Hotel New York installed their elevators in the year 2002. I believe that the elevators at the W Hotel Times Square are two years old then the ones at the Westin Hotel New York. The ones at the W being installed in 2000 or 2001 and the elevators at the Westin Hotel New York, being installed in 2002. I belive that is correct, but I could be wrong. But I am pretty sure.

  • Yes, Elevonic is my favorite as well, I like the LED's and it is nice indeed.

  • Crowne Plaza...I'll have to check this one out

  • He just said that. And musicfreakcc's W Hotel videos feature Kone elevators that also have every floor locked.

  • That's cool, but it adds an interesting design to the elevator.

  • Is every single floor locked in the W?

  • Are they really that fast? I might film them next weekend

  • I didnt stay in NYC at all, I live an hour away and visited for the day. But I was upset about the W hotel because every floor was locked and it had just 1 year old Otis Elevonic 401 elevators that were amazong. There were these entrance elevators that were possible Gen2 but I will record them next time.

  • Whoa, those are fast. What did you say about the W hotel?

  • Yes I like these elevators as well and I thought they were Epco but the hall fixtures are the Otis Series 1 fixtures.

  • Very nice elevators, and the signal fixtures are Epco WGH fixtures with blue LED buttons that look a lot like ThyssenKrupp Signa4 buttons.

  • Which would be rounded up to 1600 FPM.

  • Those are very fast elevators, but the walls are quite plain.

  • Yes I did think these were modernized at some point and that concierge lounge does seem cool.

  • They've replaced the panels/chimes and cab interiors since I was there in 2003. That conceirge lounge (keycard only) that you showed on 46 is awesome. The food they had was delicious and had amazing views of NYC.
