HIGH ART - trailer

Syd acaba de conseguir el trabajo de sus sueños en una prestigiosa revista de fotografía. Lucy, su vecina es una célebre fotógrafa que abandonó su carrera hace diez años y que vive con su novia heroinómana. Un encuentro accidental entre las dos, abre a Syd las puertas de un mundo desconocido. Fascinada por Lucy y su trabajo, Syd sugiera a la revista que publique una nueva serie de fotografías y sus jefes olfateando una buena historia aceptan. Tras superar la resistencia inicial de Lucy, comienzan un proyecto que intensificará su relación y desdibujando las fronteras entre la pasión y lo profesional, obligando a Syd a afrontar el precio de su propia ansia de reconocimiento y las inciertas recompensas de la estima del público.

Fantastic film! This is the first portrayal of a lesbian relationship I ever saw when I was growing up and it made me feel comfortable with my sexuality. Very touching movie and i love to watch Lucy and Syds relationship unfold, it just seemed so natural. .... and Rhada Mitchell is a babe!

@groovylocks lucy's line "I haven't been deconstructed in a long time" is really the epicenter of the whole point of the movie. It's just a really powerful portrayal of what career focus can do to a person, and how it brings people together. It's sort of about loving what you do.. but getting lost in what that means. For example, being something of an artistic prodigy, lucy falls prey to drug abuse and dysfunctional relationships. Being an editor, Syd falls prey to pretension and "high art".

@AlanTTT3 just as some obsess about sexuality, still others obsess about drugs. These things were just injected into the film to attract certain audiences. Neither was the point of the movie. At all. These elements HAPPENED TO BE the things that both women came to terms with during the course of following their careers (lucy recognizing her drug problems and living with a junkie who overdid it and syd recognizing that she might possibly be gay) But it was about their careers.

@AlanTTT3 actually, if you want to take a broad view of the thing, the film is about what people will do to get ahead in their career. And what getting ahead in their career can turn them into. Lucy and Syd have something important in common. They're both completely engrossed by what they do. And what they do is complementary to one another. The fact that they use drugs, OR fall in love, are just ancillary to the plot. This could have been about anything with any vice and any sexuality.
