  • This is a very informative video.

    I have a question though.

In the video you explain about adding a little pigment to the Mona Lisa Gold Size, to help with visibility, but you don't say what you used to thin the size, so that it flows so easily from your ink pen. All of the

water-based size I've seen is thick, like an acrylic gel medium. Is it okay to thin it down with distilled water, or will that affect it's tackiness, when it's drying?

    Thank you for your help.

  • I DO NOT dilute this specific gold size. However, water would work if you needed to dilute it.

  • The most professional gold sixe (glue) is made by Charbonnel and is called Mixtion (oil based)

  • The Mona Lisa product is water based.

  • Thank you so much, Dr. Vitolo. I've always wanted to see a penman working with gold leaf.

  • Thanks for the comments.
