Este poema es una romántica tragedia. Es una evocación de pasión a la inocencia, cual ha florecido y ha sufrido grandes cambios por diferentes rumbos ausente de su primer amor, dejado atrás lleno de añoranza. Tratando de retener ese amor, Ricardo toma el espíritu de un vencejo para buscarlo y para que narre la historia. Más, han pasado muchos tiempos y solo parece existir visiones místicas de una ilusión lejana. Pero la esperanza permanece sobre todas las cosas y la próxima vez el poeta buscará en las profundidades del mar, como lo describirá su composición El Delfín del Orinoco

This poem is a romantic tragedy, but passionately evoking innocence, an innocence which flourished and has taken so many changes and destinations, absent from its first love and left longing for it. On trying to find it and retain it, Ricardo takes the spirit of a swift to go looking for it infinitively and to narrate the story. Time has passed so much and it seems that only mystic visions from a far away illusion remain. But above all hope prevails and next time the poet will looks in the depths of the sea, as his composition The Orinoco Dolphin would describe
