Randolph Frederick "Randy" Pausch[2] (October 23, 1960 July 25, 2008) was an American professor of computer science and human-computer interaction and design at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pausch learned that he had a terminal case of pancreatic cancer in September 2006. He gave an upbeat lecture entitled "The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" on September 18, 2007 at Carnegie Mellon, which became a popular YouTube video and led to other media appearances. He then co-authored a book called The Last Lecture on the same theme, which became a New York Times best-seller. Pausch died of complications from pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2008.

  • i just love this video...

    ppl shoudlnt complain about anything

    if this guy didnt!!!!

  • He's amazing. I love not only how practical his advice is but how simple and straight-forward it is. I felt his examples were amazingly strong and precise as he spoke about a lesson in humility of a father who won a medal of valour during WWII and never once mentioned it or the decision to be either a Tigger or a an Eeyore incredibly crucial in how you live your life and the importance of the third step of an apology that most people skip.

Idk, I guess to summarise: amazing.

  • This guy is in heaven now, what a role model.

  • why do good people have to die early...

  • I read the book for an elementary school project, this man had a great life, in both his eyes and ours.

  • I hate it when I see a copyright message at the end of a video like this...
