@pastormtg Mark, for me the antenna works better on 40 and 80 that 160. I have made contacts on 160 but I rarely go on 160. I spend most on my time on 10,15,17 & 20. I have had great success on all of those bands. I go to 40 meters when I want to rag chew with the locals.
Adding the ground radials to the Ultimax100 did improve the performance of this antenna. I will be taking this antenna and using it portable soon. I will set it up as a vertical using a Jackite fiberglass pole and testing the performance as a vertical.
During the making of this video the antenna was set up as a sloper only 9 feet in the air. Antenna has since been raised to 25 feet in the air.
