I wonder if BMW will actually make a bike like this...
-
@underscythe yhea, i just was gonna say that

@HalfBreedMix Chopper flop is when a motorcycle's rake is so extreme that the front wheel tends to flop sideways. Basically, the creator had no clue about the basic geometry (rake and trail) that keeps a motorcycle or bicycle upright. Or chose to ignore it.
-
@darxus2 Yeah, ok, I hear ya on the leaning deal,,,,but what is chopper flop?
-
@HalfBreedMix The bike is really neat, but it doesn't work. Not enough clearance to lean enough to turn, and massive chopper flop.
-
Wow, great job!
Would somebody just make this bike already?!?!?!?!?! I mean, how long ago did Akira come out, and I have yet to see one solid real-life working bike,,,,,,,,,,,,,,It's not like there wouldn't be mobs of people waiting to buy one.

You wouldn't like falling while riding this... and if you did and survived you wouldn't like paying to fix it up. =(

Hardcore Akira fan:D
But hey, who doesn't like Kaneda's bike
I'll keep that in mind mate :)

What do you mean by that?, the bike actually steers and the wheel is on the ground...

You are right, it's hard to model every part of it and model it the right way. I'm now designing the control panel (I don't like the one in the real life bike, it's kinda awful) and hope I be able to record another video of it.

It would be more believable with a secondary lifting arm at the front. How does the front assembly not pivot on the single axis otherwise?
Very cool, nonetheless.

I think the same, the problem is that there is no room for a second arm, I've tried many ways of doing that with no success..., I might change the size of the first arm so it appear to be more robust to compensate the effect.
If you have more ideas, please share them :)

soo you drew it on paper first, and scanned it on the computer or just the computer first

No, no paper drawing at all, as I said, photo references and pictures from the movie.
