A young woman escapes from the demands of her hectic life for one day to seek solace and inspiration in the peaceful simplicity and beauty of nature.

Filmed in Milwaukee, WI with a Bolex H16 REX-5 spring-wound clockwork 16mm camera during the fall of 2010. This was my final project for a basic film class at UW-Milwaukee.

The original film was digitally transfered using an Elmo CCD transfer unit; and while the quality may not be the greatest, it's probably the best you're going to get! lol

During the making of this piece, I experimented with many different film techniques, including: double exposures (which sometimes combine a shot of the subject with a shot of her POV), stop-motion animation, single frame exposure sets (which symbolize the pictures being taken by the subject), title scratching, etc.

Nearly 15 minutes of usable footage was cut out in order to make the time limit...but I may transfer and upload some of it...one day...just for fun :)

  • Kelsey and I (Nishi) just watched this and we thought it was absolutely amazing and we loved the end when all the pictures are going up on the wall. : )
