Made in 2008, this is the latest addition to the SBS Transit Roster, the MAN 18.240 HOCL-NL. The bus entered service on the 22nd of July 2008 on Industrial Service 6 that runs from Pasir Ris - Loyang Ave (loop).

Join me and the sgforum busfans as we joyride on this new bus. Special Thanks to Alan '^tamago^' for the pictures of the bus at the MAN Headquaters in Singapore

The bus was withdrawn from passenger service in July 2009 and has since been returned to MAN. The fate of the bus is unknown as of March 2011.

  • hey there my friend.Any idea why did SBST got a 4-speed instead of a 6-speed?

  • not sure whether it was MAN who purposely fitted the Voith 4 speed.

  • did they replace N113CRB with this bus?

  • no. The K230UBs were meant to replace them

  • Do these buses have Voith DIWA transmissions?

  • Yes. This bus has a 4-speed Voith DIWA gearbox

  • @ All those who are wondering about the fate of this bus: It is laid up till 2 Nov 2012 and it possibly will not be deregistered as all SBS buses have a standard 17-year lifespan except those with lifespan extension which will have 19 years. Keep your fingers crossed! :)

  • @EugeneXL Nope. SBS Transit's OC500LE is also bodied by Gemilang but it looks slightly different from SMRT's, don't even talk about this. Just go to SGBuses.com and look under 'Special Events'. Then you will see 'Chitson OC500LE tour' on the side. Just click that, 'repaint' the bus in SBS livery in your mind and you will get an idea of how it looks like as compared to this bus.

  • @bearchoirfan Yup. SMRT is currently taking order of 200 MAN A22s with Gemilang bodies as well but the demonstrator SMB138Y had a MCV Evolution body possibly from UK or Egypt. (MCV is an Egyptian company with a subsidiary in the UK.)

  • @namelessrp SBS Citaros also have a MB badge, but not as big

  • What's with the rego SBS0000M at the beginning of the video?

  • @EugeneXL There was supposed to be one but SBS Transit rejected the trial and now it is registered as PA9588S.

  • @tintinspartan The face looks like the production batch of SMRT's MAN NL 323F In this bodywork.

The only difference is the top of the bus.It is look like some sort of handsome guy's hair

  • This look more nicer than Scania! Scanie = Colour Too Childish... Logo = Nice XD

  • @fifaparadise Cos this bus was rarely seen, plus the fact that it was running as a industrial service and there was only one if I was not wrong

  • These MANs have Malaysian Gemilang bodies, right? Hong Kong also has a few of such but they are 18.280NL273 A91, a higher member of the HOCL series. 4-speed 864.3E-DV500 as well.
