Really watch the eyes slightly widening on the first bark, he's saying "Hey! I may or may not like that! Do it again!".
I love my Sammy but I'm losing her after 15 years.

@Dogfoodsa Because I don't have kids of my own, that dog was like a child too me. I fed, cleaned, played, took her to the vet when she was ill. She loved me unconditionally, just as I am and I miss her. Surely, on the day of resurrection, I will see her again.

@Dogfoodsa yes, I have saved some videos of Sammy's from YouTube as my favorites, it is good to hear the Sammy speak, howl and play. Brings back good memories, I understand that though it is not healthy to mourn an animal like I do with my Nikki nevertheless, I still mourn. There comes a time when people ask me about a photo they see on my frig of Nikki and ask, "what kind of dog is that?" I have to swallow my tears and tell them she was my "baby".

@compxci I'm sorry to hear that. I still come back and watch the Sammy videos when I miss my Bailey and the story of William always is a bittersweet lift to my day. Samoyeds will always be my favorite dog, such personality.

@Dogfoodsa I relate to your loss, mine passed on in 2004 and she was 15 yo. My furry white fluffy is in doggie heaven.

How old is William?

This dog is barking to get attention, most people will see it as cute and not a problem but this kind of behaviour leads the dog to think it can bark whenever it wants something (like your dinner!).
MTJessie is right and I think people need to know the basics before getting any kind of dog. Any dog with behaviour problems is the fault of their human owners, 100% of the time.
I have a samoyed and they're one of the best natured dogs around, really lovely dogs.

It's true, we wouldn't do this with a puppy. William is an old dog however and was very traumatized from being on the streets for a long time. He had developed a fear of people and even objects. When we first rescued him from the shelter, he would hide in the corner of the room scared of any visitors. We were just so amazed to see him act this way, playful and happy. We've since stopped this type of play. We're delighted to have him healthy and happy again.
