The labyrinth is an ancient pattern, a symbol that represents wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. Because it's found in all cultures around the world, the labyrinth is an archetype.
Thus when we walk it we have a direct experience, which can be perceived as a metaphor for life's journey. But it is also much more than that. It is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place.
