Cabbie Sought In Violent Willamsburg Rape

WILLIAMSBURG, N.Y. (PIX11)—
Police need the public's help to find a predatory cabbie accused of raping a female passenger at knife point early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, the driver picked up a 26-year-old woman in his yellow cab at about 6 a.m. on May 8. The woman had reportedly been out drinking at Public Assembly on North Sixth Street near Kent Avenue, and had hailed the cab to take her home to Manhattan.

Cops say the cab driver took her to Rodney and South 1st St. where he allegedly attacked her. After pulling out a knife, the driver raped her and stole the victim's cell phone and $20 in cash before fleeing, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with cuts on her hands and face.

Police describe the suspect as a man in his 40's, approximately 5'8" wearing a red and orange turban.
