Bus Driver Doing Paperwork While Driving

A Gatineau bus driver is facing serious disciplinary action after he was videotaped doing paperwork behind the wheel.
A passenger videotaped the bus driver on July 18. In the video, the driver is seen clearly signing several papers. At times, he is steering with his knees.
Gatineau's transit service says it is taking the incident very seriously.
"We take it very seriously because it's an unsafe action from the driver," said Dominique Leclerc, a spokesperson for the STO. "He's supposed to be concentrated on the road, not on some paper."
Safety experts say they rarely see such a blatant example of distracted driving.
"When you consider what he's doing and what the cons could have been, the only message is they've got to come down hard on him," said Emile Therien, past president of the Canada Safety Council.

I don't condone the drivers actions by any means but what i find interesting about this story, is that the passenger actually videotaped the driver for a whole minute, yet if safety was such a concern, why wouldn't one confront him asap to stop him at that moment from compromising all passengers safety? If he had actually crashed, you'd have a video and a bunch of hurt passengers... Think about it...

This driver feels confident in what he's doing... However, if he looks over his shoulder to the rear he will see that several people have put their confidence in him by getting on the bus and believing that he will do everything he can to get them safely to their destination. Obviously... the bus driver has failed these people by foolishly increasing the chances of an accident.

PlayerName2007....you are missing the main point lol he shouldnt be doing what hes doing as a bus driver....and the fact that the quebec governement is now looking at banning people in using their own phones on a public bus because it violates the bus drivers privacy is compleley ridiculous.

This driver is breaking the law and should be both fined and FIRED. Both hands should be on the wheel at all times while the bus is moving. Passengers are well within their rights to film this practise by stupid drivers such as this. What an idiot.
