  • This one sounds different than your other hydraulophones.

  • Each hydraulophone sounds different.

    Also, the sound changes dramatically with changes in water pressure or flow rate. Many hydraulists consider the pump to be part of the instrument because it has a dramatic effect on the sound. Also changing the hose that runs from the pump to the instrument will change the sound. Turning the pump in its side and putting it next to the discharge will also change the sound quite a bit.

  • Isn't there a Nightwish Cover of that song too? Anyway, I like that instrument a lot. Isn't it weird to become wet playing an instrument? :D

  • The song was written by Howard Blake and originally used in "The Snowman". Later Nightwish did a cover version of it. It's a lot of fun to play the instrument. It's like frolicking in a fountain. It's not weird or strange at all, in fact it's very natural to play in a fountain, like going for a swim but without getting your whole body wet.
