@aramistech is it necessary to uninstall the drivers that came with your motherboard before you replace it with a new board?

Do you handle all your motherboards this way? I'd think they'd get damaged.
Obviously this one isn't one you'll actually be installing?

My friend I have been handling motherboards like this since 1996 and I have never had any problems they all have worked. These things do not get damaged that easy. Static electricity is the only thing you need to worry about. So there you go. Thanks for your concern.

hello there. is it possible to change your motherboard without losing or redoing the Operating System or anything else?? ?? O_o i is young and still learning. my dad isnt here so i cant ask him lol.

Hi, the answer is Yes and No. If you are using windows XP and the chipset on the new motherboard is similar it might work and boot up, then just install the correct drivers. If you are using vista, then good luck because I have not been able to do that. You always have to reprogram. XP also has a repair option using the CD that will help. Try it, look on google there is plenty of help out there for free. Best of luck.
