i have a question i'm building a game where i'm trying to use the GameState i'm trying to find out a way where if i get hit 5 times it says You lose and then i want the gamestate to pop up and say do you want to play again...how can i find a tutorial or a code to show me how to do it

They are done using Pixel shaders. Some I have found on MSDN and modified for this manager others I have written my self.
You can apply shaders like this to any SpriteBatch.Draw and SpriteBatch.DrawString call, it is also how I am texturing the fonts and apply the refraction effect to the second menu option.
