Blues Saraceno Tommy Gun

Blues Saraceno is a major inspiration and influence on my playing. His album 'Plaid' is one of my all time faves.

This is ' Tommy Gun' from that album. The first half has my favourite Saraceno licks . I've always wanted to cover it but there is no backing track available. So the other day I got out my bass and recorded a backing for it from scratch.

Here is the first half.......

Why only half ?

Two reasons - 1. I just haven't had time recently with the arrival of my daughter last week.

2. The second half doesn't really do anything for me musically, it's the first half I love.

Great playing! I saw Blues do a clinic playing aplaid Yamaha guitar. Was that also a signature axe?Anyway great tone and way to shred dude!

@spider62able The guitar in this vid is the only signature that was produced by Yamaha for sale to the public. Saraceno had a couple of other plaid Yamaha's which were custom 'one-offs' made just for him. They had custom paint jobs which were done by a guy called Pedro Cruz (who also painted his red plaid Ibanez) and had plaid all over the body (the production model Yamaha only has plaid on the front)

Nickstermc I discovered your playing last year and like everyone else, I am extremely impressed. You make it look very easy. I hear you have a new daughter, congrats and enjoy her. It is a real treat to watch them grow up!
