Correction: side
All I see if a box with "F8 FF" written in it. I've heard Mac users see an actual character, but I don't own one anymore to see if it's true.

In case you don't know, Windows is a software unlike a MAC (the hardware). So there's no competition between those two.
En ja ik spreek ook Nederlands, zin in een MAC debat een keer?

the windows one sounds retard but it spoke more clearly tho. cant wait till the iphone 3.0 update to use this!

It may be because, in iTunes, the 'voiceovers' are generated using the operating system's speech synthesiser and transferred to the ipod when you sync. So, if you're using iTunes on Windows, the 'voiceovers' will sound like the Windows ones. if you're using iTunes on a Mac, they will sound like the Mac ones.

why couldnt they just make them sound the same?
instead the pc version sounds like a retard.
p.s fell out of apple a long time ago!
