Coaster also uses a modified version of the F40PH. Also, I don't think the X in CSX stands for Expanded. I think CSX is short for Chessie Seaboard International.

Metra in Chicago still runs about 80-100 right now. Wonder what prompts Amtrak to get rid of the F40's so fast?

@ChicagoRailMan probably just that the p42 is better for long distance trains, If they were crap, Amtrak wouldn't have tried to salvage parts and convert them into cabbages
