Netanyahu also met with his power base in America--the congress. Obama will not stand firm on the issue of the settlements because congress will back Israel almost unanimously. I agree with the international consensus; the settlements are illegal, the Palestinians should get a state (one with good land and water so they won't be an impoverished people), and I also think Jerusalem should be made an international city, per the 1947 plan. If only congress would choose justice over power and greed.
