"Turkey Lurkey Time" is a song-and-dance number from Act 1 of PROMISES, PROMISES the Burt Bacharach/Hal David musical. Originally choreographed for the 1968 Broadway production by Michael Bennett, it featured a pre-Cassie Donna McKechnie and Baayork Lee.
In this S.T.A.G.E. LA benefit, an annual fundraiser for Aids Project LA, Brian Paul Mendoza, pulling from Bennet's original choreography and throwing in a bit of his own, had the great opportunity to work Broadway legends Sandahl Bergman, Jane Lanier, Valerie Pettiford and the Tony Award Winning Donna McKechnie herself! Woo-hoo!
The ''tall, skinny girl'' as someone called her is Sandahl Bergman, who quickly made her mark on Broadway as an amazing dancer for great choreographers like Fosse and Bennett, but went Hollywood where she appeared in mostly awful films. She should have remained in NY.
