Awesome version of Donovan's tune. And from the time I first heard this, I could only suspect that it was studio-playered up like crazy; The rhythm section sounds WAY too polished by the Hermits' standards. It was at some point revealed that-as far as is known-The bass on this track, for example, was played by future Led Zep member John Paul Jones, at the time(1967) an in-demand session bassist, keyboardist and arranger on the London Studio scene.

but this song is not on the dvd. this performance is better than some of the others

I wouldn't say slaughter.
Remember Herman's Hermits and Donovan had the same manager, Mickie Most for a few years.
