Probate is the Court procedure required to legally transfer title after someone dies. In North Carolina the probate is typically filed in the County where that person resided. Many attempt to Probate without the assistance of an attorney. This is risky in that often times steps are omitted causing potential issues for the Estate and even the beneficiaries.
