He was a great man, but certainly no saint. He enjoyed hunting even if the prey was other people. He personified the traits of loyalty and courage, two of the finer parts of human nature. Check out my song Red Baron on the "BicyclingGuitarist" channel here on YouTube.

I saw somewhere the latest theory is an english machine gunner hit him at 600yrds, the bullet's path through the baron's chest was curved to indicate the range, putting the Aussies out of the picture. Apparrently they pushed a bendy stick through the wound and calculated from this that he was hit from a distance.
