I know everyone's freaking out about this, but if you look at the original Nutcracker story it's pretty dark and has a few of the usual Burton themes (there's a mouse king with seven heads and there's a world of mechanical toys and candy monsters. And the guy who's turned into the Nutcracker? He tried to rescue a princess from a curse and once she was free we find out she's a shallow petty bitch who refuses to rescue/marry the Nutcracker). Who knows, maybe he'll do something cool with it.

@Chosenviper Johnny Depp is the Godfather to Tim and Helena Bonham Carter's children. They're good friends; hence why he uses him often.

Honestly, I can REALLY see this happening! If it did I would totally go see it, it'd be interesting to see his interpreation of the story (most likely based on the book version rather than the ballet, I bet).
