http://storyofbottledwater.org The Story of Bottled Water, releasing March 22, 2010, employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industrys attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.

Our production partners on the bottled water film include five leading sustainability groups: Corporate Accountability International, Environmental Working Group, Food & Water Watch, Pacific Institute, Polaris Institute

  • @insightnew They are not meant to be reused - they can leach toxins when you do that.

  • Aquafina and Dasani are filtered tap water at $5 a gallon. My tap water costs $0.003 a gallon. Buy a Brita pitcher for $20 and save shit loads of money.

  • Well, I'm going to keep drinking bottled water. QQ MOAR

  • i remember when water was FREE.

  • @masterbrice Tap water is the same as bottled water you've been brainwashed all your life. You've been brainwashed all your life. O_o

  • I think you guys are losing the understanding of what this video is actually saying. It is saying that tap water is perfectly healthy for you, our bodies filter out any chemicals that are in the water in the first place. Unless you have a lot of fluoride in your water, that's another story.

  • Tap water isn't clean I've been told that all my life. I've been told that all my life. O_o

  • I love this series. Definitely worth a look.

  • @agun17 you do but it's alot cheaper

  • I drink bottled water during hot summer days when you almost always gets thirsty

  • I have not consumed a soft drink in 20 years. I don't drink Gatorade or fruit drinks or Arizona Ice Tea or Snapple or any thing else that comes in a bottle. I just drink water. In the 80's when I was traveling in Europe I was delighted to be able to purchase water in a bottle. When it comes to purity, bottled water is seriously more pure than any other beverage you can buy in a bottle. Stop scoffin at me and drink water and lmaybe you will ose 20 pounds.

  • Bottle water DOES NOT HAVE TO BE TESTED! No law, no test. A lot of it IS tap water with a picture of a Mountain Glacier (tm) slapped on it.

My public water is tested 75,000 times a year and the results are posted on the internet.( Pasadena Municipal Water and Power )
