have you read wiseblood by her? i couldn't understand the significance of half the shit in the book. i live in the south so i think that's why i'm so drawn to her stuff. the little details she includes is always a nice perk, and the way she makes her characters out to be horribly unattractive or just bad people in any way she can is something i've always liked about her writing. seriously, check out wiseblood if you haven't already. it's a mindfuck.

oh yeah, i think my friend is really into those. i could never really get into fantasy. my friend was obsessed with orson scott card, too, but i think that's more sci fi. thanks for the recommendations!
