Speaking of electric cars. They appeared in the late 1800's and for a while it looked like they were going to be dominant. They even held the all out speed record. Camille Jenatzy,the belgian "red devil" drove his electric car to 65,8mph in 1899.

high gas prices wilsonbh? In germany and most other european countries the price for has is 2,5 higher than in the USA. Most europeans laugh their butts off when they hear that americans complain about THEIR gas prices.

I'm certainly sold on the electric car concept. It's a no-brainer with the high gas prices as they are, and potentially going even higher. In a way, I hope they do continue to go higher because the electric car will then become a reality for everyone. Problem now is these cars are so expensive that only the wealthy can buy one. The Tesla car is $100K plus and that eliminates the middle class from purchasing one.
