You are very patient. I don't have patience to do digital circuits. Specially from scratch!! Look at all those wires that you had to put in there. I would just use a single chip used for clocks, it's got the alarm and everything in a single chip.

Holy crap dude. Thats awesome!

Also, you should be able to ditch the computer power supply, and build a smaller one with bits from Rat Shack. That'll cut down on real estate if you ever want to have boards made, build a case, etc.

Very nice! Maybe I'll look into building one of these next winter. Now that you have a working unit, you should get some circuit boards made. It's not that expensive to do, and it's FUN.

It comes with a book about all about the hardware. Not sure if it's any good, but I'll see.
Good on you man! Thanks for making the video too.
I am starting to get into Microcontrollers just a little, and have often read of the 8085 as being an important component that had previously been widely used.
Just wanted to ask though, does the 8085 require most of the peripherals to be added seperately? Like the OR gates, and your rom and RAM.
Is that stuff not within the 8085 at all?
Thanks, anyway dude.

Very cool, I'm starting some projects like this soon as well. I found an old microprocessor trainer to start with, uses the 8085.

Thanks. Be careful with the trainer's. They will teach you alot of software but sometimes lack the all important hardware training.
