NO I have nothing against metal slug. But, you know nothing can replace the highly detailed 2d explosions and blood and feel of the 2D destruction of metal slug. 2D for ever.

I haven't played it yet, but I think this game looks really fun. I think it still keeps the feeling of the 2D ones, just translates it to a 3D environment (at least from what I see). The only downside is that it kept the 2D gameplay in a 3D environment (autoaim and such).

I love the Metal Slug series, and this is a fun game. That first level is pretty easy, but it helps to figure out the controls. There is "free aim", It just helps tremendously to lock on to targets. Other weapons, like the Rocket Launcher, give you a reticle, but no real "Lock".

Admittedly I didn't play it much so maybe I missed it but by free aim I mean like something found in most modern third and first person games where the right analog controls aiming and left analog controls movement/strafing. Trying to aim just by pointing the gun is quite difficult, especially when the only way to strafe is by locking on.

Unfortunately, that's all there is. No free aim whatsoever which is what keeps this game from being more than just a minor diversion IMO. The game really would've benefited from some form of free aim.
