Wayne Sleep (famous Ballet dancer) as a Ballroom Queen performing the Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha and Paso Doble, from his show DASH.
In 1980 Wayne formed his own dance company DASH which after many seasons in the West End toured the world, concluding back in London at the Coliseum.
Produced, directed, designed and financed by Wayne Sleep.
The show premièred at Chichester Festival Theatre in 1980, then toured to the King's Theatre, Edinburgh and the New Palace Theatre, Plymouth in 1981. The concept to present dance to a wider audience was a show of mixed styles: ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary, an innovation at the time and one that was well received by both critics and audience. As Ann Nugent said in Dance and Dancers: "Wayne Sleep deserved a special prize for making dance more accessible with his brilliantly conceived DASH."

He was a Guest Artist with several ballet companies, including English National, London City, Scottish, Capab, and London Contemporary Dance.

He directed, choreographed and appeared in his own review of dance, DASH, culminating in a world tour. Last Christmas he was the lead in the pantomime Beauty and the Beast at the Theatre Royal, Windsor.
Appointed OBE in 1998 and received honorary degrees from the Universities of Exeter and Teeside, he is a Patron of the British Ballet Organization and a Vice-President of the Royal Academy of Dance and has two entries in the Guinness Book of Records. His publications include Variations on Wayne Sleep and his autobiography Precious Little Sleep and he has now set up a charity the Wayne Sleep Foundation to help aspiring youngsters, and continues to pass on his knowledge at his dance workshops throughout the world
