Republicans have been doing this for 25 years effectively. They must be in a total panic as its not working anymore, and is in fact blowing up in their faces.
They dont know any other way. Unfortunately for them most of the country has evolved beyond this sort of garbage.

Thank heavens Hagan won. Now we can have some judges picked for their qualifications, not their religion or individual brand of a particular religion.

I think some of you are missing the point.

More people were upset at the subtle message in the ad, that "Godless Americans", A.K.A. Secularists, are immoral. Why else would she POSSIBLY try this?

If anything, she LOST votes from the secular party. When I saw this, I raged inside at the sheer ignorance of the whole thing. It plays on buzzwords to sway votes. I agree that it's desperate and just plain stupid. To think that someone like that almost had a position of power here.

Dobbs may never have heard of a group called Godless Americans but I read somewhere that Lou Dobbs doesn't believe in a god.

So what's your point?? I happen to disagree with a lot of what Lou Dobbs espouses, but his atheism or theism is not my business as long as he doesn't make it a subject for discussion. I happen to be a Christian by the way!

What's wrong with atheism being a subject for discussion? People preen themselves often enough with talk of their faith.

Christians are atheists to all the other gods worshipped.

True atheists believe in one less god than Christians.

The answer to this should be that there is nothing wrong with being an atheist.
