Everyone complains on the story, but it was actually damn clever. Really thoughtful. This was a nod to Barry Allen's apparition apprearing multiple times during Crisis on Infinite Earths and that Liu Kang eventually becomes a spirit, losing his zombified body to an unknown force.

It was the gameplay that sucked. Wasn't too awful. Playable. But the nigh-impossible combo challenges really revealed how craptacular the game's mechanics and controls actually were.
