This is the video of various images of lord Shiva. The background Music is called Shivmanas Pujanam, the shloka recovered by Shakaracharya and supposed o be first spoken by lord Rama during his exhile and before his decisive fight with Ravana.

This is the closest to the meaning of this shloka. I advice also use your imagination to understand this.

I have imagined throne of gems, cool water for your bath. Imagined divine robes with jewels and sandal fragrant anointment on your body. Jasmine flower, bilva (a hard shell fruit avourite of Shiva) leaf, frangrant smokes to offer you in my imagination. Accept all these that I can offer you now just in my imagination.

Sweet rice pudding in a gold bowl, five kind of food made of milk, curd, bananas & vegetable, sweet water, inflamed camphor and betel leaf; all I offer you in my imagination. Please accept it my lord.

A canopy, two yalk-tail whisks, a fan and a spotless mirror, a Vina, kettle drums, mridang drum, songs and dancing, many kind of hymns and prostrations; all these I offer you in my imagination. Lord, please accept it.

As you are myself, goddess Parvati is my mind and mental capacity. My five senses are your attendants, my body is your house, all the pleasure of my senses are your worship. I consider my sleep as a samadhi for you. Wherever I go I just walk around you. Everything I do is an worship to you. My pious lord.

All my sins done by hands, by feets, by speech, by action, by hearing, by watching or by my mind (thought); wether or not explained in scriptures (also read by law); O mercifull lord, Please forgive. Sri Mahadeva Shambhu!

  • Hi Onegodus you are kind of close. There is an Irish god Cernunnos who resembles Shiva. But it does not matter. He is what you want him to be, but will do what is correct.

  • i may not understand hinduism but why so many gods an goddesses? can someone explain the reason why so forth ?

  • Just like there no evidence to say there are so many Gods, there is no evidence to say that there is only one God. So, first of all refrain from thinking that there is strictly one god because authorities have told so. Polytheism exist in Hinduism partly because it was formed as a fusion of numerous belief. Also, it is noticeable that god was explained as supernatural power in vedic literature but was still presented as immitable by human.

  • @Kalsriv God is one, but he is infinite so has many different expansions, forms and personalities. God is ultimately one though, according to Vedic scritptures.

  • u must be hindu

    wow

  • According to Dr Yadubamshi, during the period before the hymns of the Yajuveda had been composed but later than the Rig and Atharvavedic periods, a non-Aryan god was fused with God Rudra. This non-Aryan god, he adds, was worshiped by some tribes in the Himalayan valleys, including the Kiratis. (Shaivamata :The Shaiva Sect)

This culture was absorbed into Hinduism as seen from the video.

  • Indo-Mongoloid people who are the indigenous in Himalayas actual religion are based on Nature, Ancestors and Shamanism.

One need to identify the roots of Hinduism and get rid of vedic religion brought by aryan which ultimately destroy the oldest religion.

One do not have to convert to Christians which is only about 2000+ years, while indigenous religion is from the Neolithic period(9000+ years).

check "sakela~the greatest festival of kirat people" for pre-vedic religion practices
