This is a very simple demonstration of a tip/tilt mirror that would belong in an Adaptive Optics system. The point of the tip tilt mirror is to counter-act any shift in an image's position. Let's say that a beam of light on the wall moves left. The tip tilt mirror will shift it right so that it stays center every time.

My demonstration mirror is far from perfect. It is actually a car mirror belonging to a Ford Explorer. The real mirrors in AO systems are much faster and more accurate.

I am currently working with Dr. Deqing Ren at California State University, Northridge on his portable solar adaptive optics system which should be ready by the end of the year.
