Centipede falls prey to Ants

I brushed these ants off the centipede as I wanted to see if it was still alive. It wasn't, and the ants regrouped and continued to cart the pede around. I noticed that there were only two or more ants actually moving it. Amazingly strong. The others were running around seemingly bumping into each other. I wonder what they were conveying to each other, if anything.
