Although I am irreligious love these litanies, the sound of the organ and the singing are phenomenal, is a work of art phonics.

I believe that Karol Wojtyla should be should be canonized under the title:
St. John Paul the Great.
The fall of the Soviet Empire is a world historical event on a par w/ the fall of the original Roman Empire. That it was done w/ hardly a bullet fired (things did go bad in Romania), is an miracle on a par w/ the Exodus of Israel from Egypt. Moses parted the waters, St. JP parted the Iron Curtain. Now let's pray Benedict can save the West.

What about the Assissi affair and his placing heretics in high offices in the Church? I don't want to judge the late pope, but would these not be objections to his canonisation?

Yes, to save us all. We are all corrupted through original sin.
