Marlin Crawler - Walking The Crawler down the Dusy-Ershim Gatekeeper

In this video Marlin demonstrates how to Walk the Crawler in 3rd gear (602:1) down the steep and loose Dusy-Ershim Gatekeeper / Boulder Alley. He had to climb back in to cut the hard left corner at the bottom. We need to get this thing radio controlled!!

Thanks for the comments guys! I swapped in a 1996 Tacoma 2.7-liter 3RZ-FE 4-cylinder engine into Marlin's 1980 Hilux. So far I've done 4 of these conversions and we've done another three down here at the shop. LOVE these engines! 150 HP & 177 TQ, it out performs the 3-liter V6 and the Turbo 22R-TE, plus it makes 17 MPG city and 21 MPG highway with 37" tires and 5.29:1 R&P. Couldn't ask for anything more! GO TOYOTA!

Absolutely. Last month we went to Rubicon to film our Marlin Crawler Commercial and we were doing 55-65 (had trailers in our group) and at the slower speeds I averaged 23.0 MPG over a 160.31 mile span. I took a screen shot from my OBD-II software to prove it. It recorded 6.96 gallons of fuel to cover 160.31 miles. I LOVE the 3RZ. People tell me I should have swapped in a V6. No way, I have more than enough power, its lighter, easier to work on, forget about it.
