71000 Duke of Gloucester hauling the Torbay Express from Bristol to Kingswear and return. This was Duke of Gloucesters' first run since failing on the Torbay Express in June, so a Class 47 diesel 47815 was included in the train for insurance purposes. 47815 did not provide any power on the main line.
The videos are taken alongside the River Exe at Powderham on the outward run. On the return approaching Newton Abbot and at Tiverton Parkway.

Thanks Bob. I'll look forward to the video. Keith.

  • Thanks Austin. Like others I try and find different angles of the usual places. The usual shot at Powderham is down by the river so I though I would go the other side of the line, although the sun was a problem. At Newton Abbot I went fo an approach shot which would have been better if the Duke had opened up earlier. At Tiverton I resorted to a standard shot as I wasn't sure how the first to clips were going to be. keith

  • Lovely filming Keith and good to see the Duke back in action with a friendly whistle happy crew too. I especially loved the first shot showing off that wonderful sky.
