I was addicted to this game many years ago. Great use of polygon graphics which didn't appear to run too slow on the C64. I remember the glowing Zzap64 review where they refused to give it a final overall score telling us that it's too different a game to warrant a rating. In hindsight it deserved a solid 97& gold medal. Again great video, but again, shit gameplay from Steve. Love it lol.

I love the Blue screen of death look alike after you die.

@SteveBenway You might be right Steve, mine is a 30 year old memory of reading a review in something like The Micro User magazine, but old age means that some memories are getting a bit fuzzy! I just found a video of The Sentinel on the Beeb and it doesn't look bad considering it had half the memory of the C64.

Legendary game, legendary crap player, YEAH!
Sounds like a good quote.
The game, I don't know, I never played it.

@ForViewingOnly That's just typical ignorance when it comes to the Acorn systems. watch?v=2hwjBEJkGW4 The game is pretty much identical on the BBC B, albeit with a bit faster scrolling.

@SteveBenway Great / twisted / broken minds..... ;-)
Cheers Steve, I was always intruiged by this game back in the day, but never had the feintest idea what it was about. Screen shots on the back of the cassette box only served to confuse me. I also avoided it because the BBC Micro version was supposed to be a bit pants.

@ForViewingOnly I was under the impression that the beeb version was actually better, having a faster processor and suchlike. I don't have it though, so can't be sure.

I bought the PS1 sequel to this game a few weeks ago.

I never could work this game out, but I DO remember Pacers !! For anyone that doesn't, they were like Opal Fruits (or Starburst, you're a youngster), but white with green stripes. Spearmint flavour... and Peanut Treets were bigger and nicer than peanut M&M's, so erm.. oh and Snickers were called Marathon.. and chicken tasted like chicken, but black and white. Erm..
