@KurtPalaka lol not true at all. it's well known that they originally made raiden to appeal to female gamers... and you know the whole "pretty boy" look in Japan, no? I'm a girl... so I'll just say that they succeeded in their "goal", but it backfired when all the male NA players(the majority of the players, obviously) ended up hating him... he was well received in Japan by both sexes, though.

I think they made it on purpose to hate Raiden from the beginning. Then here comes MGS4 with a Hardcore version of him. That changed the view of the players.. Some thrill for a reason.. nice :D

They hated him because well he was the socks you get for a chritsmas.Watch trailes and commercials,Raiden dosnt appear in any of them...so you think "Oh il play as snake"then you learn you play as Raiden...
