Judging by Shan-Yu's eyes and muscles I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be a Mongolian relative of Darth Maul. There's a good idea for a sequel. Darth Maul coming to China to wreak havoc in revenge for his relative.

Did you ever see Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? It's a fantastic movie. Also Darth Maul is the guy who wields a dual-bladed lightsaber at the film's climax.
