Here again a Video about my special motor for the trip to australia. I tested the motor today on the street - after 2 km the motor get into running. Speed was 45 km/h without fine tuning - not bad for the 6.5 caburator or.
@f1ckratte Thank you for your thorough explanation. I am aware of the stroboscopic effect. I am an electrician and we sometimes use a top you can spin that will show you what type of ballast has been installed in fluorescent lighting. (For determining whether a building qualifies for energy saving upgrade rebates.) I didn't recognize this light as a strobe because it doesn't seem to be a regular pulse, but more of a flicker. But thank you for your time!
Respond to this video... If you allready looked a planes prop engine start you may know this phenomenom. The Prop first seems to rotate in one direction but as the engine goes faster it slows down and starts going in the other direction (for the human eye). This is because the human eye only can see about 22 pictures a second.
You can adjust the ammount of times the light flashes per second, this is also known as frequency (Hz).
Now for instance if the engine is spining 1000 times per second and you set the stroboskobic light to 1000 Hertz and hold it towards the flywheel you will see a static picture of the flywheel because the light flashes every time, when it is on the same position. This technique is used to measure RPMs or Frequencys.
