Xbox 360 Error E74 ANA chip solution if reflow doesnt work.

This video shows you a possible solution I found if reflowing with hot air doesnt work, to the E74 error message.

Note do not atempt self repairs if u still have a warranty, if u do void ur waranty make sure u fully understand wat than means.
Do not atempt relf repairs if u cant even get the case open by urself n know that ul nd thermal paste ahead if time.

The problem is either the scaler chip or the grahics chip called ANA or the GPU.
From over use the solder inside the chip became loose, my solution the same penny trick used to hold the memory in place.
I simpy wraped 11 pennys, which mite be to much 10 should do but test around, in electrical tape and placed them on top of the chip the result when i place the cooling duct bak and the dvd drive back they will push the penys down and hold the loose scaler chip in place.
I sugest u do this after heating the ANA with a hairdryer only for a short time no more than a minute just to soften it but not to much(this is reflowing without the correct tools but can work, dont use a hot air gun as its to hot for reflowing ur not removing it!).
Do some testing with ur fingers like i did n see if it boots up.
I found after a couple of days this actualy fixed it for good but cant say it will be the same for every one, meaning the penys hav 2 stay in, so secure them.

The initial fault is bad solder(see other sites for indepth explanation) and it needs to be reflowed with heat for a more permanent solution same goes for the gpu as it can cause the e74 error aswel.

If u do have the equipment ant skills there are sites that explain how to remove the ANA or GPU and rebal it with better solder for a permanent solution.

its not so bad. i love having both cuz my friends will be sitting there like shit, thats xbox only, while i sit there like hmmmm, i can get that, haha. or in the video store, going for a game thats on both = more chances of getting a copy cuz u have both systems, lol.

This actually worked for me. I used about 9 pennies, wrapped it up with electric tape. Taped the block of pennies down to the mobo to add the necessary pressure and now it works like a charm. Its all about applying the right pressure, or at least for my system. Thanks for the idea.

using the penny trick is what is considered a band-aid fix. temporary, at best. if your reflow didn't work, and the penny trick did, than your reflow didn't work and do it again. make sure you know what temperatures are needed for a proper reflow. And make sure you know which chips you need to heat up for the specific error (hana and gpu mainly for e74).

it depends on luck, everything dies... but people blame xbox for it while lots of PS3's dies too.. its just luck
